In an industry where most leaders ascended by moving further from the frontline, I chose the opposite path. What appeared to anchor me there became, in truth, a fervent pursuit — years that allowed me to catalog the rhythms and raw truths of service. Through those moments, often humbling, my appreciation for the hospitality industry itself deepened. It was in that appreciation that the conviction took root: its pulse could be charted into something enduring.

John Harrison, the 18th-century clockmaker, rose through mastery of his craft and then undertook the long, relentless work of solving the mystery of longitude. His chronometer was more than invention; it gave mariners safe passage, saving lives and enabling generations to cross oceans with confidence. His persistence reshaped the fate of those who followed.

As a cartographer of service, I drew from these years of immersion to assemble a living atlas of practice. The fruition of that work is A Sense of Pulse® — conceived with the same spirit of usefulness, to offer hospitality what Harrison offered navigation: a discipline both lasting and enduring, scalable yet deeply human..
